Today, the ocean looks like a rich aunt’s necklace.
Tomorrow, it becomes the shape of a demon

Read Time:57 Second
Beneath the silence of the ocean,
Every fish looks like a mannequin,
like lifeless bones gathered by humans.
Until the torrent echoes the reel
in the tide to a baseline of grief,
once a precious home becomes a jungle.
In mass, they lay in wait for a Messiah
during this season of invasion.
None is seen but the storm and tumult.
When the ocean washes them offshore,
It's likely it won't swallow them again.
The water takes a break off their bodies
and the delta dresses them with dryness,
balancing the rhythm of those winter seasons
that fishes speak of blistered gills and fins.
Hands and legs would ferry them southward;
their sins have become prosaic to every current.
Today, the ocean looks like a rich aunt's necklace.
Tomorrow, it becomes the shape of a demon
And the fishes may have to surrender to death.
They have become used to every season.
