Be Ye Perfect
www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Be Ye Perfect]
I missed the last note on the notation
And led the choir into commotion

“You are a disappointment”
Was my choirmaster’s comment
“You, a Band Leader
And Assistant Choirmaster…
Have you forgotten the biblical advice
He that sings well prays twice?”
So I was demoted
And the rehearsal continued

Then my choirmaster uttered a ‘mi’
Instead of a ‘re’

I screamed
Before he continued
“Be ye perfect
As your heavenly father is perfect.”
