Read Time:54 Second

Let me inquire from Nigeria
Why she had been broken
From the ridge of slavery,
And had to be buried
In the sepulcher of her fertility?
Who built Nigeria?

What beauty is it?
Bursting from shadows of hostility,
We tread on crippled bridge which
Is shaped in prickle of agony
Who built Nigeria?

Our ancestors drove away predators
Of harmony and passion,
Liberation to tranquility was their
Project for her,but independence
Has clothed us with fierce darkness
Making us crawl on stinging stones of poverty.
Who built Nigeria?

We saw the aliens
As bone hung on our throat,
But we failed to predict that
Sacrilege shall flow along
With blood of blacks like a deflowered stream,
Who then built Nigeria?

Yes who are you?
Shall we see that distressed sweat of yours
As a blessing?
Or shall we curse you for feeding us with
Freedom from slavery into slavery?

Who built Nigeria?
Why was Nigeria built?
Why did you not wait
Till Nigeria’s future embraces you
for your good deeds?
Who built Nigeria?
Why did you build Nigeria?
