If I was a girl,
Would I agree to be schooled
only to graduate and be
wooed, worked and have pay,
and be chained by a ring in
the name called marriage?

If I were a lady,
Would I agree to get pregnant
for nine months, with the
pains of child birth, and
subjugate myself into a life of
motherhood for as long as
life goes?

If I were a woman,
Would I forever endure the
dictate of the man in the
guise of a husband, for as
long as I bear is first name, in
the prison cell called
marriage?

If I were a mother,
Would I do the laundry,
always.
Rush back from work to make
dinner always?
Would I have a restless night
trying to make sense with a
six year old living in their
world?

Would I trade my time just
for my family to be fine, or
would I ever find that joy or
always wonder where the
melody is in this repetitive
rhythm of motherhood?

Yup! It’s a tough job being a female in our world. I can’t believe that some actually opt for it! Thank God women have been designed to endure their kind of work!
