Ninth Of Hijra
www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Ninth Of Hijra]
Eyeful, we set to sight the crescent
Sketching out from dusk horizon
On the ninth of Hijra1- time to fasting
A commandment upon mankind; a present

Ramadan, the crown of the lunar months
That presented the ultimate words in recitation
To nullify all revelations of deistic deception
With perfect celestial poetry for all months

From dawn till sun set, the Faithfull take no food
Exempted: the pregnant, aged, kids and bodies sick
And no Eros of pleasure the fit shall seek
Again, Ummah2 is surrendered to what is good

All shall explore the holiness of its nights
Seeking forgiveness from every perceived iniquity
With open heart and tongue of sincerity
Both the rich and pauper; subjects and knights

*Hijra : Islamic calendar
*Ummah: entire Muslim world

Bodies and aged are not sick but become subject of holliness. The pregnants, kids are not expected to fast. Nice poem, Ramadan Kareem!
