My Cup Runs Over
www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [My Cup Runs Over]
I have never made a fortune
(perhaps it is too late to do so)
notwithstanding, I am happy

I reap more than I sow
as I walk on Life’s path;
I drink from my saucer
because my cup runs over.

I do not have a lot of riches
and sometimes the going seem tough
but I am glad that I have loved ones
that alone makes me rich enough!

I am grateful to God
despite the ups and downs;
I drink from my saucer
because my cup runs over.

When things go wrong
and my faith staggers
the dark clouds still break
and the sun peeps through again.

I will not ask for other blessings
for I’m blessed enough already
I drink from my saucer
because my cup runs over.

When I think and realize
that others have it worse
it dawns on me how blessed
most of us really are!

Don’t complain about the times
many would like to wear your shoes;
we’re drinking from our saucers
because our cups run over.

You may never have made a fortune
(perhaps it is too late to do so)
notwithstanding, just be happy
