I Have Dream
www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [I Have Dream]
Keep holding unto hope,
Though it seems all is lost.
Hopelessness is neither bought nor sold,
Neither is hope.

I had no shoes,
On bare feet I marched to school,
Not among elites;
I became a president.

Twenty seven years I served the terms,
And my children grew to adults
Without seeing my face…
But I too became President.

They thought I was a dummy,
And judged my grades terribly,
But my mind applauded them.
I envisaged they needed Microsoft,
And I willingly became their employer
Soon, a billionaire.

Son of a Kenyan immigrant,
Whose hope was hopelessness,
Went in pursuit of happiness…
Now I stand tall amidst the races.
Admired by the whole world;
I became president.

I fell by a swimming pool
Diagnosed with spinal fracture,
Written off soccer by orthopedics…
But the Ballon d’Or, I yet won.

I aspired for offices and positions,
And in all I failed.
My persistence didn’t wear out;
The best President ever, I became.

Where’s hopelessness amidst hope?
Only you can tell.
I have a dream…
