Beasts of Aluu
Beasts of Aluu

I saw the video
I saw their faces
I heard the story
I heard their grunts

I reached for tears
I reached for breath
I found both
I found rage

Their hearts, burnt
Their lives, lost
Their ways, mean
Their days, dark

Beasts of us
Beats of gloom
Curses rain
Verses sway

[Author] Francis Achonu Egu’s comments:
And before the fire was lit, I heard a beast yell, “Dis wan na akporuka, e neva die!“
Gbam came the thud of his plank on the head of one of the victims.
Tears welled in my eyes!

Yes. Its sad that things like this happen in broad daylight. Imagine four abled bodied men killed on allegations of stealing phones and laptops!

None of those beasts should be spared. We are waiting to see police response or total black out be declared.
