www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Be Like The Mantis]
O slothful one
Arise now
Your abode burns
Woe is one wink away
Open wide your lipped cavity
Declare! Lest you rot in captivity
You honor ignorance!
How pitiable!

Arise, O sleeping warrior
In songs and words, wage a good war
For the days are evil
Perils untold are unfolding
And the dark is fast arising!
Like the rain threads
Fiery darts are falling
About and around

Awake now!
O Jonah’s reincarnate
Wield your blade
And ready your arsenal
To your life or death
Fight!
Your soul is at stake
Defend your being.

Brother man,
Be not dismayed,
Life is one endless war
You enlisted at birth
Victory is there for the taking
Fight on your knees
Speak with your heart
If you must conquer

Lend you ears to this voice
Be like the mantis
Pray fervently- all season without ceasing –
Lest you become easy prey!
And your sun set while it’s still day
Look not left or right
There is no hiding place
Fight or die! You choose!
