…an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it — Newton.
The October 2022 Issue of CỌ́N-SCÌÒ Magazine honours selfless individuals—pacesetters, as we labelled them—who have shown a sustained desire to create opportunities, communities, and supportive structures for everyone in the Nigerian literary space we share. Our four honorees: Olumide Holloway, Eriata Oribhabor, Brigitte Poirson, and Wale Okediran, established institutions and initiatives that have shaped Nigerian literature over the past two decades, and I hope that your reading of their stories will inspire you. We also have beautiful poetry, fascinating art, and nonfiction celebrating prominent names from the past and living annals of Nigerian literature.

WORDS OF EROS BY KUKOGHO IRUESIRI SAMSON
TITLE: WORDS OF EROS
AUTHOR: KUKOGHO IRUESIRI SAMSON
GENRE: POETRY
NO. OF PAGES:
YEAR: 2017
“Words of Eros collects forty-six unpretentious poems that focus on love and sex in ready apples planted in the middle of thoughts.” – Su’eddie Vershima Agema
“Words of Eros is an erotic collection of poetry that speaks volumes on sensuality and vigorously libidinous passions… Sometimes, it is hard to believe the extent the poet painstakingly went to conceal the lustful images in the poems. He of course, is skillful with words and uses them uprightly to drive his point home.” – Eugene Yakubu
Kukogho Iruesiri Samson is the author of four collections of poetry. He won the 2018 Dusty Manuscript Prize, 2017 ANA Prize for Fiction (first runner-up), Nigerian Writers Award (NWA) for Best Poet in Nigeria and Orange Crush Prize for Poetry (2012). He is a multimedia journalist, youth mentor and publishing entrepreneur. Connect with him on Instagram.
