dug by hands of loss
Once in a while
we stumble into it
Sorrow is pit on life’s path
all men have stumbled into it
When you least expect
You find yourself groping in it
Do not be fretful;
Sorrow may bring trials
but trials bring favor
and favor brings joy
while joy brings happiness
Sorrow clutches a key
that can open favor’s door
When he comes, snatch the key
open the door and be happy
If ever sorrow comes your way
make sure you overcome;
for you can reap joy
…even in the fields of sorrow
