Hungry Child
www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Hungry Child]
He lies on the ground
Scorched by the Sun

Sucking at his dry tongue,
Pinching the sores that had almost dried
A swarm of flies crowd around his face
Licking the dried mango juice on his lips
Too weak to wave a hand
He wishes one fly would fall into his mouth

Exhausted from crying
With dried tears along his face
He swallows the dusty air
Igniting a coughing bout
That forces mucous from his nose
Which he licks with delight

But still no one notices his suffering
The whole is world deaf to his cries

more than poetry, the poetic convention itself is heart rending.
Whether literature or science or any branch of knowledge intellect endevour should mitigate or eradicate this plight of our children.
