Time seems far away
And peace will not stay
Yesterday goes in search of today
But the future still looks like this “today”
Sun baked, making hay
Mind, brain and power
Not at bay
Very productive yet fairly paid
Energy running through my veins
Hard work pays
Will I be selfish asking for my pay check at noonday?
