Eni Garenghan imele fiyai
kuro owou zi yein
eni ebi ayoro mai
weri idoiye gba e

Sia kurai bode yo
Imene san emiekirigha
Igeri fa ifiyekpo
I eweri iyou mughan

Ekpo numu were emi o
Kimise amien miniyo
Tagh, nimi ye
E zini ere nana bo igbolo moghan fa

E i tari emi brame
Duba ke dawain dein agula dein emi

Translation:
BELOVED OF HER HUSBAND
My inexpensive sweet soup
Mother of healthy kids
My pretty wife
Say thy wish

Twenty years has passed
You haven’t wronged me
When no garri we had
You stood by me

I am aware
Everybody does it
But know this
I won’t take a second wife

My love for you
Is taller than the longest masquerades
