I Learnt It The Hard Way
www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [I Learnt It The Hard Way]

I learnt it the hard way
Though, humane to me
It’s obviously unacceptable

I learnt it the hard way
That forgiveness is the greatest
Though hard, the fastest route to greatness

I learnt it the way
That grudges have no gain
Revenge is ever-pain

I learnt it the hard way
To accept apologies never tendered
To keep my dreams alive

I learnt it the hard way
I could get the peaceful future I crave
By sending away my pains with ‘goodluck’

Goodluck, not to find me again
For I wish for myself no further pain
Goodluck to those that hurt me
Somehow, their success will cease to bother me
Goodluck to those that betrayed me
Somehow, they might buy more than bloody land
Goodluck to yesterday’s regrets
Tomorrow will certainly be most lucky

For I have learnt, the hard way
That forgiveness is the greatest
Though hard, the fastest route to greatness.
