Bone Tired
www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Bone Tired]

I have tiredness in my bones;
This is a song that my soul sings
A mime that to my heart brings
Such dour and somber tones

This tiredness in my bones
I have taken to the pastor
And to the witch doctor-
Both added to my groans.

Of this tiredness in my bones
I have said a fervent prayer
And sung Psalms of forever
Like the needy are prone.

Within this tiredness in my bones
Burns the venom of the lawman,
He seized and then stole my barn
And replaced my pellets with stones.

Atop this tiredness in my bones
Rests the bag of the holy man;
He took what was left by the lawman
And put a price to mercy’s throne.

Surrounding this tiredness in my bones
Is the dirty linen of the Chief Justice;
It is smeared filthy by smelly poultice
And worn by a lazy, pot-bellied drone.

Beneath this tiredness in my bones
Lies a dream driven hopeless,
A wish beaten senseless
In a place once thought as home.
