CHARIOTEER NIGHT

Charioteer Night

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Charioteer Night]

In the crotch of silence
A smothered desire of flight
The final whistle of the train
That never reached an end.
And there we are on the platform
Waiting
Our luggage full
Of worn coats …our dreams

At nights when the city is on sale
Like a courtesan
In dark and empty alleys
While poets
Bet their soul
On the chessboard of verses
With lush and lustful words
Who’s to win in love?

And Night, like a charioteer,
Eyes shut
With a flaming red scarf
In the colour of the heart
Holds the reins
For centuries to go,
Under the moon,
Imprisoning the neigh
That love awakens.
