WRITE TO RIGHT. RIGHT TO WRITE: IKWUEMESIBE & OMOTAYO TO SPEAK AT FEAST OF WORDS 2017

Nigerian editor and book critic Joseph Omotayo and veteran teacher and author F. O. C. Ikwuemesibe will both speak at the 2017 edition of the Words Rhymes & Rhythm Festival, FEAST OF WORDS.

F. O. C. IKWUEMESIBE is an experienced teacher of the English language and Literature-in-English. He has taught and mentored generations of writers for over two decades. Ikwuemesibe has contributed articles to both local and international publications, including on-line literary groups, and has co-authored a book, Basic Literature for Schools and Colleges.

His first major poetry collection, The Big Man and Other Poems, will be published by Words Rhymes & Rhythm Publishers in the first quarter of 2018.

JOSEPH OMOTAYO is a Nigerian editor, book critic, multi-media content manager, and professional ghostwriter. He holds a B.A in Literature in English. He loves contemporary African Literature and has been writing book reviews for almost a decade.

Omotayo presently writes for OlisaTV and Words Rhymes & Rhythm Publisher’s author-resource platform Authorpedia. He is also a web content manager for Afridiaspora.com, a webzine for Africans in the diaspora, featuring content on African Literature, development, entrepreneurship and arts.

They will speak on the festival theme – Write to Right; Right to Write.


Also expected at the festival are award-winning multimedia journalist and writer Bamas Victoria and Lagos-based engineer-turned-poet Jide Badmus who will be headlining the event as Guest Writers.

Feast of Words 2017 will feature stimulating discussions, award presentations, book unveiling, readings, poetry and an African Night of words, musical and drama performances and an abundance of palm wine and local delicacies. It will hold from 9:00 am to 8:00pm on Saturday 16th of December 2017 at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan.
