IT WAS NOT EASY by Osoba Taiwo Peter

Read Time:1 Minute, 13 Second

Judas had gave the detached troop a sign, that whoever he kiss
Is the Jesus,
And immediately they have Him cease,
He whom Judas with a kiss endorse.

Herod treated Him with contempt,
Though nothing worthy of death has He done,
All the people’s wants is His death;
They all laugh Him to scorn.

The multitude shout away with this Man (Jesus)
And release to us Barabbas,
And to Jesus they did unfathomable harm,
And let go of Barabbas that ought to be behind the bars.

Though Pilate didn’t want to release Jesus to them, but crucify Him is what they shout with one accord,
And their voice and that of the chief priest prevailed,
He is being accused of calling Himself the Son of God;
And His death sentence they didn’t delayed.

Though it was not easy,
But the cup couldn’t pass over Him,
And about the night hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice Eli Eli Lamasabachtani and immediately
One of them gave Him sour wine filled to the brim.

And at a place called calvary
There they have Him crucified,
A place of unfathomable agony;
Where He died even for the most defiled.

And at about the last hour, Jesus cried out again with a loud voice,
“Father ‘into Your hands I commit my spirit'”
And having said thus,
He breathed His last.

I fell in love with poetry in the year 2014 because I see poets as geniuses who dive into peoples thoughts and imaginations and pen it down to inspire and to chastise.
