PAUSE AND THINK by Maxwell Onyemaechi Opia-Enwemuche

Read Time:40 Second

Pause and think

How long shall we continue to slave?
Where are the best brains that will help us and think?
When are we going to seek light out of this political cave?
Pause and think
How long shall wanton killings continue?
Let your minds be brighter than colour pink
Let’s avoid this quagmire called the conundrum.
Pause and think of humanity
For we preach love and absolute forgiveness,
Yet we desecrate our land with impunity.
Should we walk straight and feign peace laden with kindness?
Pause and think of our children
For they deserve a better future.
Let brotherly love rule the minds of our children
We deserve freedom for a tomorrow which defines our future.
