#BringBackOurGirls: LET GO OF THEM

Read Time:52 Second

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Let Go Of Them]
Sleep has been stolen from our eyes
And our pillows are soaked with tears
Shall we continue to live in fear?
No! We shall be bold and arise

For our eyes are already swollen from weeping
Sobbing and searching
How long shall we wait
For our land to be cleansed from this evil fate?

Fathers have refused to hit the hay
Mothers wail and weep all day
Concerned Citizens gathered to protest and pray
But still you are adamant, saying “Nay”.

Why transport them like Nomads looking for pasture?
Why tamper with their glowing future?
There’s no more time for dialogue or prattles
The line has been drawn for battle

We’ve all made a vow, never to rest
To fight you with our very best
Until our Yaariyans are out of the forest
And out of your deadly nest

* Yaariya means girl in Hausa language.
