YOU NEVER PROMISED TO HURT HER by Osoba Taiwo Peter

Read Time:48 Second

You came to her proposing
As if a helper sent from above,
Disguise in sheep clothing,
Despite being a wolf.

Because of you
She left her mother and father,
She made a decision to
Go with you miles farther.

The only way you can reciprocate her love
Is to had her battered,
You came to her like a dove,
But in no time have her heart shattered.

Her beautiful face that once glow,
Whenever she smiles their appears a dimple,
But that face with your blow
Had been made wrinkle(d).

You sometimes ago admire
The way she calls you dear,
But now you’ve turn to a vampire
She dear not utter the word(dear) in your ear.

She was once that beautiful woman
You sometimes ago kissed,
But now you are being hue-man,
Without a second thought, hit her with your fist.

You never made a vow
To her at the altar
That with your blow
You will hurt her.

I fell in love with poetry in the year 2014 because I see poets as geniuses who dive into peoples thoughts and imaginations and pen it down to inspire and to chastise.
