OUR FATHERS

Read Time:36 Second

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Our Fathers]
Our exalted fathers kissed the steel
and made thousand crowns of chain
upon their throttled necks
from barns where their being beamed dim.

Fetid festers watered their fetters’ studs
holy waters for new converts
they shared communion with their heads
the lip of dawn bore their detritus.

What have they not learnt, harvesting blood
like animals meant to appease the gods
many heads have gone abroad
from ‘uninnocent’ hands.

Let them kill and thrill themselves
with blood as wines and body for swine
they shall also live and smell death
and feed fat from roosted sorrows.
