One Day I Will Write a Poem About My Depression

When shadows consume and joy is an evasion.

Lost dreams linger, fading away,
As life veers off course, leading astray.

One day I will write a poem about my despair,
Fighting for purpose, gasping for air.

A constant battle waged deep within,
Yearning for solace, a chance to begin.

One day I will write a poem about the tears,
That stain my face throughout the years.

Unseen struggles etched upon my soul,
Every step taken toward being whole.

One day I will write of the silent fights,
Longing to escape the darkest nights.

Forcing smiles to mask inner pain,
Hoping desperately it won’t be in vain.

One day I will write about finding light,
Breaking free from depression’s tight plight.

In every word penned, hope shall reside,
Revealing a journey where darkness subsides.

Lost

In this race we run, we have lost.
Lost to the fast-paced stride of life,
Dragging us along, never asking if we are ready.

Expectations weigh heavy on our shoulders,
They whisper in our ears, insisting on perfection,
And yet, they change the melody each time we chase them.

Pressure squeezes our hearts tight,
Squeezing out the joy and replacing it with anxiety,
Leaving us breathless and suffocated.

We search for ourselves, as if we were misplaced,
But we forget that we were never lost,
Just waiting to be found within our own reflection.

Alone

Empty stillness consumes my soul
— silence echoes through my veins.
An absence that can't be made whole
— weight that no one can explain.
The world around me lies in ruin,
memories fading with each breath.
This grief, it seems, has no undoing,
a wound beyond time, beyond death.
The quietness consumes my thoughts,
a numbing void that lingers near.

The pain of what I've lost,
a sorrow too heavy to bear

In this hush, I'm lost within
a home that feels both strange

and known, perhaps the silence
is akin to a place where I can be

alone

The Possible Sad Story of How You Never Pursued Your Dreams

You had a dream, a burning
passion deep within your soul.

It was the kind of dream that
kept you up at night, fueled

by your fears and desires.
You imagined how your life

would be if you pursued it,
how you would feel fully alive

and unstoppable. But as time
went on, life got in the way.

You put your dream on hold,
telling yourself that you would

come back to it eventually.
But eventually never came.

"The possible sad story of
how you never pursued your

dreams." As you looked back
on your life, you wondered

what could have been if you
had just taken that leap of faith.

What kind of person would you
be? What kind of life would you

have lived? The questions
haunted you, reminding you

of what you had lost.

Empty Eyes

empty eyes
stare
into nothingness,

a void where
emotions echo
endlessly.

silent tears
hidden
behind an indifferent gaze

loneliness lingers,
whispering
in the dark.

spaces that were alive,
now cold,
empty and bare.

eyes that once held light,
full of life's bliss,
now vacant,

longing for what was amiss.

yearning for connection,
for warmth to share.

longing
for love to fill
these gaping holes,

but left with nothing

only echoes
of
emptiness.
