I, YOU, THEM AND US (of a nation apart)

Is this right?
What did they write;
Stop or stomp?
..
Here we are at the pump:
You hand us leaky bowls
Ignoring our scowls

They come with buckets;
Our eyes roll in their sockets
While they fill up.

Why can’t we say stop?
Oh, We can’t stop the lies
For ‘We’ has many I’s.

There’s the I of my brother,
Nyamiri, Aboki and the Ngbati other;
Christian, Muslim; divided army of Is!

Even as doomsday draws nigh
And we wallow in collective poverty,
All reject ‘Us’ for the ‘I’ party!

And while the I’s camp wars
‘Theys’ sit behind closed doors
And fill buckets at the pump!
..
Stop or stomp:
What should we write
To make things right?
