‘Weed them all weed away,’
The headmaster commanded.
And the mean butchering
And cruel murdering
In my cathedral began.

It may be because I’m unplanted
Or perhaps my greenish greenness
Enemies their wrinkled faces,
Unpanted by a friendly sun.

Each perk slaughters kindred,
Every kiss with the matching machete
Slenders every portion
Managed by lean and inexperienced ‘gladis’.

I refuse to bleed to death,
I refuse to live to suffer
This ruthless trampling and slicing
By cunning grumbling lads!

Forgotten are those days
I brimmed with famished beets
Drank flowing stagnant pea
Smelt puke and shit
Shivering, ‘your pistol’s gonna shoot me!’

Happy and sad I am though;
My seeds are kept secret
So soon I will ‘recome’
To take over my lost fields!
