DEATH by Cletus Nnaemeka

Read Time:57 Second

No one is bold
when it’s you in the corridor!
Terror grips the household
when it’s you at the door!
Sorrow lives with the household
when you’ve someone on the floor!

You expel life
like it never had essence!
You widow a wife
like she’d enjoy his absence!
You cut better than a knife ?
Even in a beloved presence!

You do the business harshly,
like you feed on the tears of your victims!
You go about it roughly
like the moans give you melodious rhythms!
You go about it hurriedly
like life spends much time with your victims!

You wouldn’t dare
when the time is not yet!
You wouldn’t even spare
at the exchange of wealth!
You wouldn’t even care
to hit below the belt!

Don’t hurry!
We’ve limited time with life.
Worry!
You don’t really end life.
And sorry!
You are passage into another life.

We see your benevolence
In scenes after you!
The best art of self defence
can’t even stop you!
But you are the pence
And Man shall always pay the due!
