CONVICTIONS

Read Time:33 Second

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Convictions]
Whether I be impaled
like the old “Church Of Christ”
did to many a martyr great
or thrown in dungeon dark,
like many a tyrant has done;

Whether those within whose power
lies my fate to decide
choose silence, to keep in brute conspiracy,
I shall make my voice heard
that men might know where I stand

Whether I be made a slave or worse
I shall make my conscience free,
And tell of convictions deep;
that man, and man alone, should choose
the way his life be governed.
