women don’t owe you anything (a poem by Linda M. Crate)

Read Time:50 Second
i'm a woman
 this doesn't make me
 less
 or inferior

 no one is superior
 to anyone else,

 stop letting your
 egos
 decide who matters
 and who doesn't
 because we all
 do;

 and the only one you strip
 dignity from in these
 situations is
 yourself—

 women are not your
 property
 or your broodmares,

 we don't owe you anything
 just because you were nice to us;

 if you're a good guy
 just for the compensation
 then you aren't truly good.
