THERE IS A LIGHT – WE WILL GET THERE by Michael Inioluwa Oladele

Read Time:46 Second

1.
There is a light;
Though the dark tunnels stretch to hell
Though the dark cloud be darken as charcoal
Though the trophy be too high to hold
We will get there, we will get there.

2.
Though the drummers’ drums deafen the dancers
Though the gods pay no heed to our prayers
Though the roads be as dry and hot as fire
Though our sandals cry out in agony and anger
There is a light, we will get there

3.
Though our children die on the long walk to freedom
Though our old men’s legs give way and retire
Though our youth complain of the heavy rain and thunder
Though the journey might seem to last forever
There is a light, at the end of the tunnel, we will get there.
