THE DANCER

Read Time:36 Second

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [The Dancer]
She dances like one possessed;
Somebody should hold her.
She dances,
Causing ripples in the dust,
Stirring up the ghosts of her past;
Somebody should hold her
Because soon,
The angels of the earth will fall at her feet.

She dances like the stormy seas,
Like heaving bodies in the act of love
She dances the dance of ecstasy
Like a bronze beauty
Immortalized in the middle of the town,
Like the sky, when the moon appears,
Like one possessed of infernal love
That can only be quenched
By the lust of her war-lost man.
