THE CHILD by Cletus Nnaemeka

Read Time:29 Second

How time flies,
I once had those innocent babe’s eyes.
Wonder what’s on that serene mind
Even if I asked, it’d be the blind leading the blind.

Man has always sought for immortality.
Even to the extent of poking divinity.
Alchemists dedicated everything in strive.
Just to find the elixir of life.

But nature has a way of providing answers
It makes it poetic, they come in stanzas.
And I looked at that little face again.
I could see it, it’s just plain.
