STITCH THE CRACKING WALL

Read Time:48 Second

www.facebook.com/WRRPoetry [Stitch The Cracking Wall]
Great nation, we hail thee
Land where plenty meant plenty
In sweat, our ancestors
Built you on solid rock
That you may stand firm

Oh! Cronyism has
Formed a crack in the wall
It is no longer strong,
And terrorism has helped
To further the crack

Great nation I salute thee
Land of graceful women with visions
Cut short by hairy fists of abuse
Unripe wombs forced into motherhood
Oh! What sorrow!

Ah! The walls are crumbling
Selfish leaders promise democracy
Yet totalitarianism is the order of the day
And foolish masses take peanuts
And lose the national cake

Awake!!! Able bodies of this nation
Stitch the cracked walls
Make hay while the sun shines!
You are leaders of tomorrow
But what will you lead if the walls
Are totally crumbled?
