SONS OF ADAM, DAUGHTERS OF EVE

Strives were rife
As imminent doom begot these offsprings
Of Adam and Eve.
The soil thou tilled, when tractor blurred into
Life,
Served pounded yam on thy table;
Seasons climbed seasons,
And thy life, fed through the years, now
Was planted as yam remnant
A seed – six feet beneath!

Tales of the past, we heard of it
Of heroes and warriors, even cowards –
Born of royal blood; life held in servitude,
How rotten, fleshs had become: affluence or penury?
All perished in dusty – dug hole!
Kudos to the voracious eater, o soil that consumes
Humans!

Undisputed! Men can be great;
How weakness yet rooted in thy blood?
Like fresh roses bloom at birth, fatally
Awaited to be choked thorns, blown
By fierceness of the wind –
Fallen and trampled under foot!

Generations wipe another into extinction
A king passes away, springs another
While the youthful hue sits on his skin

Fames set histories – charisma glorifies men;
the end justifies the means, the supreme end!

Alas! dwindled beneath, all returns to dust,
Only few source wisdom from the ants
Thought it screams aloud, in the mundane.

(sigh)

“fame is vapour, riches take wings
Howbeit, good deeds last on the sand of time!”

I wish this sage hints our country men
In honour and power!
