RUSTED ARROW (a tribute to Sir Nelson Mandela by Adedayo Adeyemi Agarau)

This war
was swifter
than time.
the war
claimed the souls
of clustered fighters
fighting for greed.

With an arrow
sharper than the
piercing sun,
many fell.

At a time, this great arrow
was captured
but can the truth be jailed forever?

This arrow fought still
and our village was never
defeated in the war
against corrupt minds.

But,
when the sun shines
time shall come
like the night of rest.
this time has claimed
the sharpness of our arrow.
leaving us with blades of wails..

Tonight
After this war of pain
we shall go to the river of memory
and was your works in it…
