PAGAN’S PARADISE by Efe Ogufere

Read Time:36 Second

Guns and roses
In pairs and poses
A silver bullet
Pierces your soul
A bleeding petal
Numbs the pain

Karma is fickle
A book keeper
With terrible skills
Life is bipolar
Depression is spread
Evenly from pole to pole

A lullaby a day
Keeps arsonists at bay
Lest they raze
Our maze of hope
Burn to the ground
Our dreams and beliefs

Age slowly unwarps
A tender flower
Lone survivor
Through adverse weather
A handful of seeds
All started a journey

Blossoms and berries
Always so cherry
Like they have forgotten
Harsh winds and dry parches
A smile is a cherry
On a sundae of sadness.
