ONE DARK AND LONELY NIGHT

Read Time:1 Minute, 15 Second

One dark and lonely night
Struck by reminiscence
That dark and lonely night
Illumed by a moon crescent

Deep in my heart, still, you are
That fiery passionate flame;
Time served not to make
You wither away

One dark and lonely night,
Assailed by nostalgia,
Pangs of want and more
More and more of you.

That dark and lonely night
It seems like yesterday
When you struggled with all might,
And gave your last breath away

That dark and lonely night
It seems like yesterday,
When I committed to dust
What was dust, in May

One dark and lonely night
Struck by reminiscence
Aching for proximity
Yearning for closeness

Bustling thro’ the thick
Of undergrowth and o’ergrowth
Brambles tearing at flesh; I
Am reminded of my mortality

One dark and lonely night,
Alone at bay,
Illumed by a moon crescent,
Headstones of grotesque formations.

Weaving through the labyrinth
To find your Earth-bed
Braving shadows and beetles
For proximity to you

Such rush of contentment
At the sight of your Bed;
Such soothing relief
I find near, next to you

But a fresh mound is adjacent
Near, next to your Bed
A fresh slab is erected
Near, next to your Bed.

That dark and lonely night,
Illumed by a moon crescent,
Freshly carved in the slab,
Whose name to see but mine!
