Congratulatory messages flew around
When we were born
Excitement and jubilation seized the air
An optimistic future
Was what our parents saw for us.

But Life happened to us so quickly
Its bee descended and stung us
It sucked our nectar hungrily
What once was excitement turns dread
Dreams of a happy future shattered
We resort to hopelessness and despair!

Will life ever smile at us again
When will this rain stop
When will the rainbow come
To add colors to our world
Will the sun ever shine again
To dry up the tears that floods our eyes
And the hunger that plagues us?
