I would breathe sans fear<br>
And fly nude with no shame.</p>
<p>If I wasn’t here<br>
I won’t need a hoe<br>
Nor work my shoulder<br>
To put grains in my bowl</p>
<p>If I wasn’t here<br>
I won’t have any foe<br>
Waiting in repose to fleer<br>
When I hit a stone with my toe</p>
<p>If I wasn’t here<br>
I would ne’er shed tears<br>
Neither would a dirge pass by my ear<br>
I’ll walk the night with no fear.</p>
<p>If I wasn’t here<br>
The sun ne’er will burn my skin<br>
Nor the rain fall on my hair<br>
No cold will be felt within</p>
<p>If I wasn’t here<br>
I would never die<br>
I won’t have a body you can spear<br>
No hands but wings to fly</p>
<p>If I wasn’t here<br>
I would be an angel<br>
Up high swerving in the sky<br>
I might e’en be an archangel</p>
