But can’t tell what they are<br>
They know their aim<br>
But at it they can’t aim<br>
I wonder!
<p>They’ve cleared their route<br>
On it, for once, they’ve never marched<br>
So nice a path for themselves they’ve cleared<br>
Afraid, their feet hesitate to tread<br>
I wonder!</p>
<p>Rightly, to them, it does belong<br>
And sure, they’ve known for long<br>
So great a chance, for them, God made<br>
See, they watch as into thin air it fades<br>
I wonder!</p>
<p>See how blessed they are<br>
From this very truth they are far<br>
On the key have their fingers been placed<br>
To try their luck with the lock, they can’t<br>
I wonder!</p>
<p>What they are not<br>
They claim to be<br>
What they claim to be<br>
To become, they strive not<br>
I wonder!</p>
<p>See how ignorant they are<br>
See how, their own future, they mar<br>
See how for doom they head<br>
See how from the devil’s pot they feed<br>
I really wonder!</p>
