Roaming the streets, disturbing the trees,<br>
The rain came in search for the lost,<br>
That night…<br>
I slept with her.<br>

I slept with a western lady<br>
On her bed full of bed th(b)ugs,<br>
Her swollen eyes was shut,<br>
My fingers all over her bruised skin,<br>
Then….<br>

Then I found a cut,<br>
A cut in her inner court,<br>
Her masters were cruel lawyers,<br>
Hitting every flesh of hers with (f) laws,<br>
But that night she moaned…<br>

She moaned for peace,<br>
Her tears were iced with fear,<br>
I slept with her softly,<br>
That she said,<br>
That night…<br>
.<br>
At dawn,<br>
Then, I knew<br>
She was a country;<br>
Nigeria,<br>
Not Maria.
