I KNOW OF A COUNTRY THAT ONCE WAS (a poem by Abiola Fausat)

Read Time:44 Second
I know of a country that once was
With happy citizen living in harmony
As one nation with one voice
Though of different tribes and tongues

I know of a country thatonce was
Where the leaders were the followers
And the followers were the leaders
And all lived in togetherness and peace

I know of a country that once was
History says it used to flow of milk and honey
Perhaps that is too long ago a time
For all that is left of it is ruin

I know of a country that is no more
Its people cry out hoping for redemption
While it also stares at the people
Hoping be saved as it bleed
