HOW I SLEPT & WOKE (a poem by El Sane Ken Silencer)

Read Time:22 Second

As a child
Whom the parents loved
like their second breath,
cozed wings in him- rugged life...
rugged life...

I grew without fear
of anything; licking
the lip of the world
as it did kissed me--

This is how I slept
With ear, to the world
And heart, to the heat
Of 'life is to be once lived.

This is how I woke
With eyes, strict
Wide, deep and gummed
In dream.
