FREEDOM: by Adedayo Adeyemi Agarau

Read Time:45 Second

I see our future in chains;
We only strive in vain
Shall we be free of these pathetic breed?

Do they know ours pains?
That we only seek freedom?

We walk in files to the work field
Guarded by armed morons,
With eager, blade mouthed whips

Oh! We cry and take our fate,
Hoping Freedom shall be our grace

An offspring was born
From the house of the weakest;
A man shining like the sun

He grew in strength, might and fear
And even the predators feared him

Though our tries were not enough,
He brought us the victor’s trophy;
Freedom, the spirit of our nation

The Savior came to grace us glory
He stood and fought his way out

Hmmm! Our hope is up, standing;
This is our story of Freedom
For the light dimmer has been silenced!
