FLAWS AND LESS BEAUTY by Jerry Joel

Read Time:42 Second

I laid my flaws
bare on the floor
And you trampled on them
With utter disdain
I looked into your eyes
And saw burning ember
Where i once saw
dazzling emerald
I felt the shuddering cold
That i ran away from
In your cold embrace
You opened your mouth
And out came daggers
That hacked my heart
Into a thousand pieces
I couldn’t cry
Because men don’t cry
My eyes were dry
without tears
But so was your heart
Without any drop of love
The oodles of love
You once professed
Had been lost to drought
You turned the paradise
I knew into the Sahara desert
After you were done
I saw less beauty
And more flaws
In what I once thought
To be flawless beauty
