He came to me
I never knew him before then
‘Said I am your friend
My job is to guard you
Protect you from the enemy
From the dark secrets that lurk in the shadows
To direct you when ‘you are lost’
Then I did believe
I looked up to him and
Thought all was well
Then a day did come
He asked for a token
This I couldn’t give, because I said
It wasn’t right
In anger he struck me
A friend, I can no longer call him
But an enemy so close
