DWELLERS OF GRAVES ON OUR STREET!

Read Time:48 Second

Awo, what find you here amongst the living?
Giwa, no more pens for you to write?
Ehn, ehn! Have songs changed Anikulapo?
Balewa, someone occupies the seat!

Zik, no more movements for you
Macaulay, parties have advanced
Ogunde, what play write you here?
Then, what find all of you?

Awo replies, ‘citadel standard took my place’
‘Despotism has claimed my spot,’ Balewa reports
‘Objectivity knocked me off,’ says Giwa
‘Morality overrides my right,’ that’s for Fela

‘Independence took my role,’ laments Zik
‘Leadership and followership seek my home,’ Herbert groans
‘Professionalism took my place,’ Ogunde laments
‘We have no place to stay than here’

Haa! See the grave dwellers on the street
Walking majestically with no shift
Oh! Grave dwellers we beg for peace
Go back and release our wishes to us
