ALTERNATIVE BEST FRIEND

He always smiled
When he should have smiled.
But the smile he smiled
Carried a hitch, though smiled;
He is my alternative best friend.

She broke what was built,
Having nothing she ever built.
Thinking nothing is meant to be built,
She goes achieving what she never built;
She is my alternative best friend.

He stores a slaughter,
Pegging two and two for slaughter.
Prowling the earth for slaughter,
He leads unities, as to slaughter;
He is my alternative best friend.

She gazes at star lines
And makes races in between lines,
To couple a ‘You’ traced by lines,
To back enmity without enemy lines;
She is my alternative best friend.

She has made efforts meaningless
He has uprooted meaning from meaningless
She craves your grace, makes you meaningless
He maps your strategy, yet you’re meaningless
Always graciously there, as the alternative best friend.
