In recognition of this, the ‘Eriata Oribabhor Poetry Prize’ initiative has come to be.
<p>In the 2012 maiden edition of this poetry prize, Nwakanma Chika emerged the first prize winner while Mr. Madu Chisom Kingdavid was winner of the 2013 edition.</p>
<p>This year, (2014 edition), the WRRPoetry is inviting all poets and lovers of literature to send well-worded poems covering the sub-themes of; promotion of unity, truth, justice, change and sustainable development.</p>
<p>The Eriata Oribhabor Poetry Prize which was instituted in November 2012 was set up to give the much needed attention to Nigerian poetry as well as encourage young Nigerian poets to use poetry as a tool for social change.</p>
<p>Sponsored by author, publisher and promoter of Naija Langwej, Mr. Eriata Oribhabor, in collaboration with international social reorientation poetry movement, Words Rhymes And Rhythm (WRRPoetry), it is expected to bring out the best in our youths.</p>
<p>GUIDELINES:<br>
*The main theme is: ‘SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT’ in our respective societies.</p>
<p>*One poem per entrant<br>
*Entries must be original intellectual property of the entrants and cannot be altered or changed after submission.<br>
*Kindly include a short bio (50 words maximum) and contact info (your full name, email address, phone number) in your submission.<br>
*Authors retain copyright of their poems but submission gives us the permission to publish selected poems in a future anthology to be constituted from the best 10 poems from the various editions of the prize. <!--more-->*All submissions should be made via email as BODY of mail to wrrpoetry@yahoo.com with the subject: ‘Eriata Oribhabor Poetry Prize 2014’.<br>

Mr Oribhabor is an Essayist, Poet, Chairman, Association of Nigerian Authors, Abuja, and member of the Naija Languej Akedemi put together by the Institute of French Research in Africa (IFRA-NG).</p>
<p>Promoter of Naija languej (standardized version of Nigerian Pidgin), he once wrote the column Naija Languej A-Z in Leadership Newspaper, Abuja Nigeria where his articles written in English, featured words/phrases in Naija languej. His first published book is, Abuja Na Kpangba an oda puem-dem (IFRA-Oribhabor, 2010); a collection of poems in Naija languej. He is the Editor of “If Yu Hie Se A De Prizin”; an anthology of poems written in Naija.</p>
<p>His forth-coming works include, “The Good Old Naija” is a collection of essays published in his column, “Naija Langwej A-Z” (Leadership and defunct The Market magazine), “Beautiful Poisons – Collection of poems”, “The Face of Abuja” – poetry collection and “Lagos na Gon-Gon” – poetry collection in Naija langwej, etc.<br>
Oribhabor is behind a publishing outfit called Something for Everybody Ventures and passionate about positive change for his country Nigeria. As the Organiser, 100Thousand Poets for Change, Abuja-Nigeria, he is very much passionate about promoting young writers towards developing their potentials;</p>
