mankind was sentenced to total damnation
by virtue of sin, the devils temptation
We lived in fear, utter trepidation
awaiting death and inevitable destruction
no longer blessed with the creators visitation
only subject to angelic ministration
But God the father in his mercy and redemption
sent us a lifeline despite our rejection
gave us his son, an offer of salvation
and to those who believed, freedom from damnation
Jesus received the worst possible reception
from his own constituency he suffered rejection
an innocent man died by crucifixion
3 days later came the resurrection
he defeated death and rose in jubilation
opened our eyes to see Satan’s deception
left us – but promised during his ascension
that he would return SOON for the final celebration
